Charge
The task force should develop ways to communicate the vision, narrative, and recommendations of the Resource Discovery Exploratory Task Force final report with the larger UW System library community. The task force should assist in the development and beta implementation of UW Forward and assist individual campuses in piloting other products that align with the RDETF final report.

Key Expectations
  • Publicity & awareness: create materials & descriptions, coordinate demos, gather & analyze feedback
  • Cost/tradeoff analysis
  • Conduct deeper analysis of resource discovery tools (both vendor & open source)
  • Keep abreast of and report on related work at other universities
  • Draft a staged pushout / phased pilots for the Resource Discovery Tool(s) / Develop preliminary timeline that includes scope and functional requirements
Timeline
Progress report to the CUWL USCC by January 10, 2010 and a final report to the CUWL USCC by June 15, 2010.

Meetings
Task force meetings are scheduled on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month from 12-1:30pm via teleconference.
