UW System has acquired new servers.
Oracle T4-2 - New production web server -
128 virtual cpus - 2 x 8 core cpus. 64GB memory.
Oracle T4-1 - New test server -
64 virtual cpus - 1 x 8 core cpu. 32GB of memory.

To migrate to these, we have to move our test and production zones to the new hardware, as well as migrate from Veritas Volume Manager to ZFS for filesystem management.

Test Server
Widener - old server -
Functions - mount up production backups, Milwaukee backup app server, run all Hub test zones
Riggs - replacement T4-1 server
Steps
- Install server - completed last week of May 2012.
- copy test zones to new ZFS filesystems - completed first week of June 2012.
- Migrate firewall rules to new standard format - completed second week of June 2012.
- Reinstall test zones and bring them up - completed 6/18/2012 evening.
- Modify server.xml for all vxws instances to allow search-qa access - completed 6/19/2012 morning.
- Install extra preview server(s) as needed. - completed 6/19/2012 afternoon.
- Ask librarians to test out connections to test servers. - completed 6/19/2012 morning.

Update - as of July 4th - move to the production servers and ZFS was completed. Old servers will be decommissioned as I am able to.
